A recent article quoted an insider at delivery firm Yodel who suggested that there could be a backlog of up to 750,000 packages at its depots that might not be delivered in time for Christmas.

Yodel informs us, and we accept, that by the end of Christmas Eve it had around 3,100 undelivered packages, and that several attempts had been made to deliver the majority of these.

We are happy to set the record straight.

We stated in an article on 26 September that Christmas has been renamed in various places Winterval.

Winterval was the collective name for a season of public events, both religious and secular, which took place in Birmingham in 1997 and 1998.

We are happy to make clear that Winterval did not rename or replace Christmas.

A first night theatre review of Three Days in May, which ran in some copies of the edition of November 3, reported the performance of Robert Demeger in the role of Lord Halifax.

In fact, as we stated in It’s Friday the following day, Lord Halifax was ‘brilliantly’ played by Jeremy Clyde.
